PLASMA TV!!!Yup...You read it right. My family now has a PLASMA TV in our Living Room. I won't say how much it costs...but it sure is costly. Paying by instalments. If you wanna see it...just swing by my house. Haha. I'm so excited already. But, it's kinda weird to have a new TV in the house 'cause I was so used to the sound (frequency) of the previous TV that I felt weird hearing a different sound from the Living Room. You may think I'm a Freak or so...but i do have sensitive ears. Anyway...It was supposed to be placed on the wall, as in pasted on it...But due to the mirrors and glass on the wall, there isn't any space for the TV. So, we had no choice but to place the TV like all the other TVs in the house; placing it on top of the shelf meant for a TV set. The TV is quite large...and it's too bright for my eyes that I almost had a headache watching 30 mins on the screen. Hee (You might be wondering why I couldn't just go to Menu and adjust the Brightness of the screen...Well, I did but my Mum said that the brightness is enough, but it's still too bright for my eyes. Again, sensitive eyes. Hee)

This post is for yesterday 8th October 2007. I was One Minute late to write this post. Sorry.
Today...I witness a True Singaporean Act by a True Singaporean. They could actually be defined as people who are 1)Truly born in Singapore, 2)Arrogant, 3)Money-minded, 4)"Kiasu" and the list will just go on and on. From this, you could conclude that I am not really proud of being a Singaporean...but what can I do to change that? 'Cause I was born here. Anyway...back to the real story. This post is entitled "A Bank's Drama?" And, yes, it happened at a bank. The POSB Bank at White Sands. This afternoon, my brother & I accompanied my mum to the bank. While waiting for my mum's turn to be attended, my brother & I sat the small sofa placed there watching the long queue getting shorter. Yup...it was a pretty damn long queue. Then, at one time, two Kaur ladies (Mother & Daughter) queued up. I can tell they're Kaurs 'cause of their facial features and appearance...they are usually smart in English 'cause so far I know my ex-classmate always gets an A for English and is now Debating in the new Media Competition "The Arena". Also, my ex-tuition English teacher is a Kaur. Okay...back to story. Later, the Mother went out for awhile, maybe to the toilet or something, leaving her Daughter to queue. When she became the third from the back of the queue, the Mother came in and "cut the queue" to queue up beside her Daughter. Then, the last person of the queue, a bald 50-year old Chinese man, asked aggresively "Why are you cutting the queue?" Then, the Mother was like "I'm queueing up with my daughter." And the next question from the man surprised me,"Are you sure?" I was like "
Who in the World doesn't know their daughters???" The Daughter replied, "Ya, she's my mother." The man asked the question again,"Are you sure?" I was like SURPRISED he could still asked that question..."
Who doesn't even know their mothers?" The Kaurs kept saying "Ya" to him but it looks as though he was listening to a native language instead of English. He's so....ergghhh, irritating, wanting acceptable reasons trying to make the Kaurs leave or something. Terrible. Fortunately, a Chinese man, who was in his 30s & was in front of the Kaurs, stood up and said "Ya...the two of them queued up first." Shockingly again, the bald guy asked the question again. I was like
"What the Hell is your Problem?" Then, all three of them kept saying "Ya", and finally, he accepted their answer and just leave it alone. And after that, i guess due to shame, he walked out of the bank. I felt happy when he walked away. Hee. As the queue progress, the Kaur Mother looked at me, and I gave her the same boyish smile (like to the China guy in my previous post) and mouthed "Hello" to her. She grinned at me. I looked away looking at my phone and everywhere else, but I could still saw her staring at me. I don't know why. Heehee. But I just didn't do anything. Till now, I still couldn't stop wondering what's the guy's problem...

Today...during the afternoon, did some housework. Washed the sink, the toilet, wipe the windows, the mirrors...and clear off everything that includes Dust. It was kinda boring.
Later, Mum decided to go to Causeway Point to buy a Television at Courts. You might be wondering why we went all the way to Woodlands just to buy a television at Courts there when there are many Courts stores here in the East. Well...the answer my Mum gave was that her friend works there and by buying there, her friend gets commision. I don't even know what that means. Anyway...we Break Fast there at KFC. My brother & I went to order the food. Then, there is a back-up counter there who is a Chinese named Chuan. He's quite built actually. When he was doing the Drinks, he asked me bout something in Chinese (Mandarin I guess). I was like "Sorry?" Then, he blushed and shook his head sideways and smiled. He then stammered "I'm Chinese"...and that's when I figured out that he's from China. So, I just said "Never mind" and we both gave boyish smiles...Haha. Sounds gay, right? After eating, my family found out that we need a plastic bag as two Spicy Drumlets were still left untouched. And I went to the same counter previously as that is the only counter that seems approachable due to the counter being at the end and there were lesser things blocking the way. And...you guessed it, there he was again...being the back-up counter. Ouh, if you don't know what a back-up counter is, it's a person that helps the main counter trying to lighten up the burden of the main counter by taking drinks or so while the main counter attends to the other items of the orders. I was one when I worked at Mac's last year during the Work Experience Workshop. Anyway, back to the KFC...he saw again and gave the same smile. I smiled back, being friendly, trying to make him feel comfortable in Singapore. Hee. Then, I tried to mouth the words "plastic bag" and showed an action of carrying one. But he was clueless and he pointed his index finger to himself. I laughed and just shook my head and said "Never mind" again. So, I then asked the main counter for the plastic bag.
At Courts, we walked past all the television sets on display to find the right set for our Living Room. The big TV in the Living Room is having problems with the colours on screen. It keeps staying dark and we couldn't do anything to fix it. We always see Black & Indian people as one of the dark backgrounds of the screen and we could only see their teeth and eyes. Terrible colour. And when the show is about something happening what at night, we could only the reflections of their eyes. So, walking passthe televisions on display to find the right set for our Living Room. The big TV in the Living Room is having problems with the colours on screen. Terrible colour. And when the show is about something happening what at night, we could only the reflections of their eyes. So, walking past the television sets and checking out their cool details really made us thought alot bout which to buy. Finally, we found the right one. I even went into the Computer Section to see the cool and latest computers on sale. And I saw the coolest computer ever. This HP computer doesn't have any separate CPU. It's locked beneath the computer, in a stylish way. Ouh ya...it's Piano Black in colour. Another thumbs up. The monitor can be moved upwards or downwards steadily, its keyboard is wireless so is the mouse. So, you can actually take away the keyboard and place it far away, and you can still type words on the screen. Also, THE MONITOR IS A TOUCH SCREEN MONITOR!!! Its like the Tablet PC in school except that you can use your finger to move the mouse around. So, if you don't wanna touch the keyboard or the mouse, you can just touch the screen. HOW COOL IS THAT???
Ouh...at the Pasar Malam, or Night Market, beside the Mall, we bought some drinks and kitchen stuffs. But what I bought is another Sling Bag!!! Heehee. Its the one I've always wanted. Brown Leather Bag. I really want a leather bag 'cause it's now cool to have those, and i really prefer leather to be Brown rather than Black. It's more Vintage having it brown. Just a Tip. And as a Singaporean, bargaining isn't a rare thing to do. It's already cheap at $22...but my Dad bargained it till it reached $20. That's good already. So, we saved $2. Heehee. And now I have a Brown Leather Bag. It's from Levi's by the way. I also have a Grey Leather Wallet from Planet Ocean Studio. So, from these, you might figure out what's my taste in accessories. Next, I'm planning to get a Leather wristband. After my O's, that is. Not really now. Gonna go shopping like mad after O's. Heehee.

Hey...Prelims results were given for the past three-four days. Sigh. Unfortunately, I received unsatisfying results. However...MIRACLES DO HAPPEN!!! Here's my results: EL-B4, E.Maths-A2, A.Maths-C6, Combined Humanities-B4 (Geog-A2, S.S.-C6), M.T.-B4, Bio-B3, Chem-A2 & Phy-C5. Yup, remember in my previous post, I said that I did worse for my Chemistry? Look again. I've got an A2!!! A MIRACLE!!! I was so damn lucky! For my E.Maths, I require 2.3marks to get an A1. Erghhh! That really pissed me off. I actually failed my A.Maths by 0.6marks. But, after moderation (I guess Mr Loo doesn't want me to fail), the marks got rounded up to 50, and I got a C6 due to that. This really excited me 'cause I won't see any Red Inks on my Report Card. Yay! I screwed up my Social Studies, didn't have enough time for it. Biology too. Forgot many things I just memorised the previous day. That kinda sucks. Physics, I didn't really bother bout that subject. But, I have to say it's luck again that gave me a pass in it. And I'm happy for it. Heehee
Today, went with Daniel to Bugis Street for a Shopping Spree. I don't know why I followed, but I guess I needed the time off. He went there to find Birthday Gifts for the Birthday People this month; Joanne, his Dad, his Cousin & Carine. He bought stuffs for them that are very good gifts as a whole. He is rich to buy them. While walking, we saw Olinda, the Tomboy from S'pore Idol 1. I saw her first, and Danny didn't believed it until he saw her face. Hee. I have to tell you...Bugis Street seems like a Maze now. Almost got lost. But thanks to my memory skills, we've found the correct shops and manage to find the way out. Heehee.
At this shop on the Second Floor, I saw a collection of vests on display. I currently have a taste in vests, 'cause I found out that they could be worn with anything, anytime & anywhere. Worn over a long-sleeve shirt or a t-shirt. And I have to say that I have t-shirts that has prints on it that doesn't really looks nice or appealing, so the vest is a nice way to hide those designs. Great idea, huh? Ok, back to the shop. The auntie gave some descriptions bout the vests, like they came from Hong Kong, showed us some ways to wear them, and also said "There's a shop that sells these at $43, but here they're only $33". I really did wanted to buy them, but I didn't bring enough money. Furthermore, I intend to go shopping after O's, not before. So, we told the auntie that we'll go around first, and she said "OK...But try to come back. If you come back, I give bout 10% Discount so they'll be $30". And we said Okay. However, when we returned to the First Floor, we saw a shop selling vests. They only cost $28. We were like shocked. Heehee. It's all bout going round the whole place first before buying (just like the Far East Plaza trip buying a formal dress code for Band Farewell Party).
Later, it was nearly time to Break Fast, and I was kinda late. Danny asked to go eat Mos Burger, but I refused 'cause I don't really like Japanese cuisine or those Rice Burgers. So, I decided to go Fish & Co. Before arriving, I totally forgot that it was a restaurant. That means EXPENSIVE FOOD!!! I was shocked 'cause I intended to save money and eat less. But I did totally the opposite of my intention. Spent $21 on the food, service charge & GST. Sigh. And I was totally stuffed.
After eating, while still sitting at our table, there was an Ang Moh family of three sitting at a 6-seated table. They were still figuring what to order until they saw bout five to six Chinese people waiting at the entrance to be seated. Due to that, they asked a waiter for them to move to the four-seated table that had just been cleared beside our table, so that the Chinese group could sit. They were very thoughtful and generous I might say. The thing that crosses my mind first was "Which Singaporean would do the same thing?" I really salute them...So far, the Ang Mohs have been very mannerful and thoughtful than us Singaporeans. Examples: They move away from the doors of the MRT trains so that people could depart first before they alight, place their contents on their trays in the trash bins at a fast food restaurant instead of having the cleaners to do it for them & many other things. I really salute them man.
At the MRT train, i almost fell over this guy 'cause of the train sudden movements. I was embarrassed by that. Heehee. When we're reaching Pasir Ris, we saw this woman who fell asleep with her mouth open. It wasn't a really good social etiquette to do that in public, and it was an unpleasant sight. However, Danny wanted to take photo of her but his phone will have flashes. He doesn't want to attract attention. So, I took out my phone and took her picture. I wanted to post her picture here, but I guess it will be a very bad thing to do. Thus, I didn't post it here. It was already evil of us to take photo of her without her permission. So, if God wanted to punish us, and you (the sleeping woman) is reading this, we are truly sorry for what we did. Forgiven?
Anyway, people at home all studying for O's while we're going out shopping. Kinda stupid isn't it?
