Ok...this post is about what happened during our band rehearsal at S'pore Conference Hall; preparing for SYF. This was supposed to be for 27th January 2007. Sorry if i put it on 28th January. I update too late. Hahkz. Ok...when we reached there, after entering the Hall, it was completely silent. The air was so still in the Hall. Even a drop of a pin could be heard. Hence, even the slightest mistake from any instrument could be obviously heard. It was scary. When we were playing, shadows of familiar figures were seen walking and finding a seat in the Hall. Of course, those are our seniors; to listen and comment on us. Haiz. We made a lot of mistakes there. After we left the building, and went to the CDS Shelter to go back home...during fall in, we were harshly commented by our seniors and teachers. Even Ms Tham, a muscially-untrained person, could hear that we were out of tune when we played. Very ashamed of ourselves. Ms Ng was the one who made many people cried 'cause she commented on every section in the band. She gave little praises but mostly emphasized on our mistakes. And that led her to raise her voice about some sections. It was very scary and mean...but hopefully, this woke us up. We need to wake up and stand fast as SYF is not that far. We only have about 18 or 20 full band practices left. That's not much. We're still ill-prepared. So the only way is to pray and hope for a miracle. But we don't need them if we practise hard enough and really have the desire to grab that Gold. We want...i mean...NEED that Gold. We wanna prove to people that Coral Concert Band, a neighbourhood band, could also achieve something great. That's what Mr Wong wants. He wants to prove to people that they thought wrong about neighbourhood school having low achievements. That's his wish...that's why he chose Coral Secondary School and start a band here. He, as they say, is the kindest conductor in Singapore. He makes jokes a lot of times...other conductors just won't smile at all. He made us happy and didnt punish us that harsh any more. We need him...It scares me when Fairul said "If Mr Wong quits...its your fault." The fact that the word 'quit' was pronounced clearly by his lips shocked me. We need him...So, are we gonna just give up now and say 'I dont wanna continue'? If we all cannot handle this, how are we gonna survive after graduation? The world out there is cruel. If we cannot make it, then, no one will. We are...the Future. So...WAKE UP AND BREATHE THE FRESH AIR!!! WE WANT NOT JUST THE GOLD BUT ALSO TO PROVE TO OTHERS WE CAN ACHIEVE MORE!!! We dont wanna lose face...degrading ourselves to Bronze, do we? So, I advise to you guys...PLEASE PRACTICE!!!
